Day 01 : DIBRUGARH – MON ( 190 KMS / 5 HRS )

Meet and assist by JTI staff at the airport / station. Transfer from Dibrugarh to Mon. Our drive to Mon in Nagaland will be through lush green valley of the tea estates of Assam. The journey will take about 5 hours. This district is inhabited by the KONYAK TRIBE with a sizable number of AO Nagas. Check into Helsa cottage on arrival.

Day 02 : DAY TRIP TO LONGWA (42 kms/ 3 HRS – one way)

After early breakfast we will be going to Longwa village. True tradition is seen here where people are still not touched by modern ways. Lunch at the village. Meet village folk, see their way of life. Return to Mon in the evening.

Day 03 : DAY TRIP LANGMEANG (45Kms / 3hrs one way)

After breakfast we will be going to Langmeang village, one of the most traditional villages where you can still se the people living in the ‘Morung’ – the traditional dormitory. Meet village folk, see their way of life. Then on our way back, if time permits we can visit the Chi village. Return to Mon in the evening.

Day 4 : MON – JORAHAT (165Kms / 5hr DRIVE)

We will drive down to Jorhat today and check into a beautifully appointed 70 years old Tea bungalow. Lunch upon arrival. Evening visit Thengal village and meet simple Assamese village folk.t

Day 5 : JORHAT – MOKOKCHUNG(100Kms / 3hrs one way)

After breakfast we will be going to Mokokchung in the north-central Nagaland. This district is inhabited by the AO Tribe. The journey will take about 4 hours. On reaching Mokokchung we will check into Tourist Lodge.

UNGMA AND LONGKHUM VILLAGE is our destination today. After breakfast set off for the villages. Met by the village head, we will be escorted by him throughout the village. Enjoy AO dance while you are having your lunch at Longkhum. From here we will drive to Touphema village 5 hours away. On arrival check into neatly appointed huts built in the Angami Naga style, ANGAMI is, incidentally, the main tribe of this area. Evening traditional dance and dinner around campfire.

Day 7 : TOUPHEMA – KOHIMA (40KMS / 1.30 HRS)

After breakfast, transfer to Kohima – Home of the Angami Nagas, the capital of Nagaland and also the second largest village in Asia. On arrival check into Razhu Pru/ Cimorb hotel. Afternoon visit the museum and the famous war cemetery, a symbolic memorial raised as citation for the supreme sacrifice made by the officers and men of the Allied forces during World War II the largest cemetery in NorthEast India.

After breakfast visit the very interesting local vegetable and fish market and then proceed to an Angami Naga Village – Khonoma village, 22 km / 1 hr, a place renowned for its valour and fiercely independent mindset. The Khonoma gate tells the story of British infiltration into Naga Hills. Back to Kohima for lunch. Afternon visit the Kisama Naga model village.

After breakfast transfer to Dimapur airport to catch out going flight.
