WINTER SPECIAL EXOTIC ANDAMAN | TOUR CODE : TP-DOM-0026-I | (7 Nights / 8 Days)

Floating in splendid isolation, cast of the Indian mainland is the archipelago of 572 emerald islands, islets and rocks known as Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This Union Territory is stretched over an area of more than 700 Km. from north to south with 36 inhabited islands. Mythologicaly, the name Andaman was presumed to be derived from Hanuman, who was known to the Malays as Handuman. Since Prehistoric times, these islands were the home of aboriginal tribes. The tribes of, the Andaman group of islands are the Great Andamanese, Onges, Jarawas, and Sentinatese, all of Negrito origin, while the tribes of Nicobars are the Nicobarese and Shompens, both of Mongoloid stock. The first settlement by the British took place in 1789, which was later abandoned in 1796. The second settlement was basically a penal settlement, taken up in 1858, after the First War of Independence, followed by the settlement of convicts, Moplas, some criminal tribes from Central and United Provinces, refugees from erstwhile East Pakistan, Burma and Sri Lanka as well as ex-servicemen.

Day 01 : PORT BLAIR

Arrival in Port Blair & transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, proceed for “Harbor cruise” (sailing time from 1500 hrs to 1700 hrs) to see Panighat, Chatham jetty, bambooflat, Haddo Jetty, Floating Dry Dock, Coast Guard Jetty & Junglighat including Viper Island. Later, watch the light & sound show at the Cellular Jail (1825 hrs to 1915 hrs), the saga of countless martyrs of Indian independence struggle who laid down their lives.
Dinner & Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02 : PORT BLAIR

After breakfast, visit the Corbyn’’s Cove Beach (7 kms from Port Blair – a coconut palm fringed beach, ideal for swimming, sun-basking & bathing)and Local sight seeing covering Anthropological Museum, Cellular Jail National Memorial, Forest Museum & Chatham Saw Mill – On Chatham Island, Samundrika(Naval Marine Museum) and Aquarium (Fisheries Museum) In the afternoon, start off for an excursion to Coral Island (North Bay) to see coral reefs.
Dinner & Over night stay at respective Hotel at Port Blair

Day 03 : PORT BLAIR

After breakfast, start off for an excursion to the Ross Island (Tour duration about 3 hrs including transfer time). The former residential and administrative island of the British during their rule of South East Asia was nick named the Paris of the East. This island was completely destroyed in an earthquake, now in ruins. Evening free for independent activities.Rest of the day at leisure.
Dinner & Over night stay at the hotel.

Day 4 : PORT BLAIR

AAfter breakfast, day is leisure for OPTIONAL independent activities on direct payment basis viz Excursion to Jolly Buoy Island or Red Skin Island or Baratang Island.

Day 5 : PORT BLAIR – HAVELOCK

Havelock Island is 54 kms from Port Blair; it takes approx 4 hrs to reach the island).After breakfast transfer to the Phoenix Bay Jetty. Depart Port Blair to Havelock by M. V. Maccruzz – a luxury cruise vessel between Port Blair & Havelock (Ferry time will be advised in due course). Arrive Havelock and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6 : HAVELOCK ISLAND

After breakfast, take a wooden boat & proceed to Elephant beach for snorkeling – to see Under Water Marine Life. (the entire trip will take around 3 hours including transfer time by ferry. Snorkeling will be done for about half an hour) In the afternoon, enjoy at Beach number 7 on the western coast, better known as “The Radha Nagar Beach”. It is one of the most popular beaches on Havelock and was named “Best Beach in Asia” by Time in 2004.

Day 7 : HAVELOCK ISLAND – PORT BLAIR

Breakfast at the hotel. Sail for Port Blair by M. V. Maccruzz – a luxury cruise vessel between Port Blair & Havelock (Ferry time will be advised in due course). Upon return from Havelock Island, transfer to Hotel.
Dinner & Over night stay at the Hotel in Port Blair.

Day 8 : PORT BLAIR – BANGALORE

After breakfast transfer to the airport to catch your return flight to Bangalore.
